Mariguan

Descendants of The First, a great and powerful force that founded their desert homeland. Their nimble bodies and quick reflexes have helped them escape many tight situations. Their bodies riddled with patches of iridescent scales, ranging in all colors, have helped them hide in plane sight. Few will bargain with a Mariguan, as their silver tongues tend to get them the best price in everything.

Beautiful to Behold

Their soft skin seems to glisten in the sun, as the small scale patches scattered about their flesh catch the rays of light. The sharp features on their face are remarkably entrancing. The males have an intense chiseled jaw, or a sharp line to their nose, their eyes piercing deep into those in their site. The females walk with a sharp line to their shoulders, their heads held high and the sharp line of their eyes draws back to their temples. Giving an almost elegant, yet intimidating, look to their appearance. Their skin tends to be of a darker shade of tan, from being in the hot desert sun. There have been a few reported cases of pale skinned Mariguans appearing in the small desert communities.

Regal and Reserved

At first appearing disinterested and not wanting to be in the political debate, their eyes may scan their environment and surroundings. After long silence they finally interrupt the conversation with a melodic tone that enthralls those around them. The conversation is quieted suddenly to listen to the soft voice that interrupted. While many Mariguans have strong opinions about the political status of Edalon and the wars that rage, they tend to only speak up when they must. Not feeling the needs to defend themselves, because they do not seek others to confirm them. Remaining true and strong in the beliefs and morals which they hold. Not wanting to rage war over it, but not allowing others to sway them from their beliefs.

Many that leave Marigua have done so in search of their purpose. While they have a strong belief, they are still unsure of what they must do. That desire for purpose, sends them searching Edalon for who they are to become.

Mariguan Names

Most Mariguans have adapted to the new customs that came over with the outlanders. Some have taken to names that were more elvish in nature, some have found beauty in the human names. While their first name has taken to the new customs, their surnames all remain the same and tell of where they were born. The most notable is Kestrin of Marigua, the noted defender that chose to join the band that closed the portal, and his sister Sestina of Marigua who also joined to fight alongside him.

Age

Mariguans reach maturity in their 50th year, living well into their 200th year. Most settle down by their 150th year, having found their purpose. It is rare to find a Mariguan still traveling beyond their 200th year, as their bodies begin to slow.

Alignment

Most Mariguan are in search of who they are, leaning more towards the Chaotic Good alignment. Occasionally, you can come across some that are hard pressed to discover their truth, as time is short and they would be aligned with the Chaotic Evil, doing whatever they can to find their truth. Unfortunately, all reported cases of this alignment ended in their self destruction.

Size

Males and females come in similar heights and weights, ranging in height from 5ft to 6ft, with rare cases above 6ft. Their builds range from slender to broad, with weight to accommodate that. A slender frame would weigh in around 115 pounds, with a broader frame coming in around 180 pounds.
